Please join CGS for a talk by Allison Witt (College of Education, UIUC) on February 2nd at 12PM (CST) at the International and Area Studies Library, Room 309, or on Zoom for her lecture, "Maintaining Online Connection in a Post-pandemic World; Virtual Exchange as an Accomplice to Mobility".
Now that traditional mobility has resumed, what happens to the global classrooms, virtual exchanges, virtual internships, and COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) projects developed during the pandemic? Can such programs be recruited to encourage interest in study abroad? Do such programs develop global citizens? Using the College of Education IGlobal project as an example, we will discuss how online global programming can work in tandem with traditional mobility to develop global citizenship in students.
