Biography
Dedric Lee has over twenty years experience teaching. He has taught at a wide variety of students from middle school to university levels. His passion is researching foreign affairs and the role of the United States in the international affairs. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Midwest Institute for International and Intercultural Education.
Research Description
For the 2023 ISRL, he will be researching democracy and its collapse in Nicaragua to better globalize resources for his political issues course.
For the 2022 ISRL, Mr. Lee will create a course for community college students that examines migration from Central America's Northern Triangle to the United States.
For the 2021 International Studies Research Lab at UIUC, Mr. Lee created a teaching unit on US–Saudi relations for community college students titled "Our Faith and Your Iron: A Community College Teaching Unit on the US–Saudi Arabian Relationship". The unit covers the establishment of the Saudi Arabian state, the factors in its relationship with the United States, Pan Arabism, and Wahhabi Islam.
