Amanda Cook Fesperman

Biography

Amanda is a tenured professor of Political Science and History and the coordinator of International and Multicultural Education and Study Abroad at Illinois Valley Community College. She holds a Masters Degree in Political Science, graduate certification in History from Western Michigan University, a graduate certificate in Women's Studies, 60 doctoral credit hours in Political Science from Northern Illinois University, and is currently pursuing an EdD in Educational Leadership at Liberty University. Her areas of expertise are in Women in Development, African Political Systems, American Politics, U.S. History, African American History, and International Relations. She teaches courses in American
Government, International Relations, U.S. History, African American History, and African History. 

Research Description

For the 2022 ISRL, Amanda will research how the war in Ukraine is impacting political illiberalism in Poland and Hungary.
