Growing urbanization, inequalities of access to improved water, sanitation, health, education and housing, and migration are interconnected, and in complex ways both cause and reflect the global restructuring of production and social reproduction.

Organized by the National Resource Centers for Area Studies in partnership with the College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences (ACES), the focus of the upcoming annual campus symposium is global food and agricultural issues, including trends in food and energy demands, scientific advances in agricultural technology, plant and animal genomics and their impact on society.
