Sustainable Development

To draw attention to areas of strength and excellence at Illinois, the Center for Global Studies organizes global issues research, teaching and outreach into Research Clusters that bridge disciplines, regions, and professions, and support cutting-edge innovations in teaching and conceptualizing global studies.

Disciplines and topics included in the Sustainable Development research cluster include health and medical sciences, agriculture, food security, international business, ecology and environmental sciences, socio-economic impacts, and cultural competency. CGS supports new course development; outreach programs to business, agricultural professionals, media representatives, and educators; and workshops and conferences.

The links below include courses taught at Illinois with CGS support, faculty affiliated with the Center because of their research interests, related CGS publications and multimedia resources, and organizations with related research interests.
