To draw attention to areas of strength and excellence at Illinois, the Center for Global Studies organizes global issues research, teaching and outreach into Research Clusters that bridge disciplines, regions, and professions, and support cutting-edge innovations in teaching and conceptualizing global studies.

The Information, Communications and the Media Research Cluster includes global studies research and course support in cooperation with the University Library. An expanding interdisciplinary collection of materials can be accessed through the Global Studies Library; additionally, the Global Studies Librarian provides online International Reference Service. Other activities supported by CGS include international conferences, publications, and outreach programming.
