Global and Area Studies Summer Research Laboratory
Graduate Hourly, June 1 – July 29, 2016

In collaboration with the Center for Global Studies, the International and Area Studies Library will host 10-12 community college faculty and administrators between July 18 and 29, 2016 as part of the Global and Area Studies Summer Research Lab. We are looking for your enthusiasm and skills to provide general and specialized reference services for program participants. As a member of the small but energetic summer research lab team, you will take part in program preparations and you will respond to bibliographic requests, email, chat, and phone inquiries. You will also assist the Interim Global Studies Librarian with personalized bibliographic sessions and will provide orientation sessions for participants. This position is a superb fit for students who are enrolled in the Graduate School for Library and Information Science and who aspire for a career in academic librarianship. This position requires a time commitment of 20 hours per week from June 1st to July 29th, 2016.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Familiarity with Dewey Decimal classification system and LC classification system required
  • Library experience preferred
  • Administrative experience preferred
  • Knowledge of a second language preferred
