Surveillance and Society
XVII International Sociological Association World Congress of Sociology Conference July 11-17, 2010 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
There will be two sessions. Session 1, Surveillance and Popular Culture, will analyze overlaps between popular media representations of surveillance and actual surveillance practices. Session 2, Local Manifestations of Global Surveillance, will explore cultural and regional differences in what might be considered to be global surveillance practices.
